Objective : Students
will design a wearable art object for the upper torso of the human body that is
inspired by the concept of an exoskeleton.
This meaning can be inspired by nature as defined below, as well as be defined
by Bionic technology based exoskeletons that can be used to improve super human
strength.
“An exoskeleton (from Greek ἔξω, éxō
"outer" and σκελετός, skeletos
"skeleton"[1])
is the external skeleton that supports and protects an animal's body, in
contrast to the internal skeleton (endoskeleton)
of, for example, a human. In popular usage, some of the larger
kinds of exoskeletons are known as "shells". Examples of
exoskeleton animals include insects
such as grasshoppers
and cockroaches,
and crustaceans
such as crabs
and lobsters.
The shells
of the various groups of shelled mollusks, including those of snails, clams, sponges,
seastars,
tusk shells,
chitons
and nautilus,
are also exoskeletons.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exoskeleton
Based on my research i have picked the concept of Volume and delicate(Fragile) Below i have taken some images for visual research, though this is my first step, these images will help me interpret my sketch.
