Art to Wear Project One : ExoSkelton

Objective :  Students will design a wearable art object for the upper torso of the human body that is inspired by the concept of an exoskeleton. This meaning can be inspired by nature as defined below, as well as be defined by Bionic technology based exoskeletons that can be used to improve super human strength.

“An exoskeleton (from Greek ξω, éxō "outer" and σκελετός, skeletos "skeleton"[1]) is the external skeleton that supports and protects an animal's body, in contrast to the internal skeleton (endoskeleton) of, for example, a human. In popular usage, some of the larger kinds of exoskeletons are known as "shells". Examples of exoskeleton animals include insects such as grasshoppers and cockroaches, and crustaceans such as crabs and lobsters. The shells of the various groups of shelled mollusks, including those of snails, clams, sponges, seastars, tusk shells, chitons and nautilus, are also exoskeletons.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exoskeleton
